Students create beautiful masks out of papier-mâché, paper, paint and other materials and develop their artistic design skills in drawing, painting and sculpting while learning about the myths and traditions behind different types of masks. Inspiration may come from Japanese theater, Native American or African culture or even Mardis Gras. Although a mask can hide a face, it often reveals a great deal about its wearer.
