Storytelling is one of the oldest art forms; while it is easy to tell a story, it takes skill to tell a story well. Beginner storytellers explore the basic public- speaking skills needed to be an entertaining storyteller. Students learn how to create different voices for various characters, and to add gestures, facial expressions and flow to their stories. They practice projecting their voices and using eye contact to keep their audience engaged. Stories from a variety of genres from creation myths to personal narrative are rehearsed and then presented to the class.
