Recreating experiments from 19th century scientists develops student understanding of electricity and magnetism. Students take tips from Benjamin Franklin to create and control static fields and lightning-like sparks, experiment with levitating foil, play dust bunny ping-pong and spray static from their fingers to power a soda bottle motor. Through hands-on activities students explore the mysterious forces of electricity and magnetism and discover how to combine and transform these forces to run electromagnets, motors and generators.
