"Thank you for the time of my life. I could take robotics all day every day. I love it! I learn a lot. And I love my teachers! Thank you for making this opportunity available to me!!!" -Student
Tuition Assistance Creates Opportunities
"I have had the pleasure to attend two Saturday Academy classes thanks to the financial assistance you have provided. The first class I took was about Ancient Egypt, I was fascinated with the stories about mummies, pyramids, and the way Egyptians wrote and did math. I learned new things about Ancient Egypt and also got to do fun projects along the way; making pendants, paper, 3D paper animals, and other activities. The second class I took was to prepare me for geometry next fall. The teacher was very helpful, she encouraged us to ask and sometimes you could stay after class so she could explain a concept you didn’t understand or weren’t there for."
A Future Scientist
"Thank you so much for helping me to be able to go to TAG Camp! It was so much fun and I learned a lot about science. TAG Camp is my very favorite time of the year, because I learn so much in a very fun way! I wish school was as interesting and fun as TAG Camp. It makes me really want to be a scientist when I grow up!"
Thanks From Two Brothers
"We wish to thank you so much for the opportunity to attend the class “How to build a computer”. Both myself and my brother had such a great time taking the computers apart and putting them back together. We are inspired to take more classes and to go to Free Geek to help out. We both are excited about the prospects in our future. Thank you again for the inspiration you gave us both."
Parent Whose Son Took 3D Printing
"This was an amazing class. I stayed for all sessions to sign language interpret for my deaf son. Both Jesse and Stephen, instructors were flexible and accommodating to his needs. He is now planning to start an after school club 3D printing group."
A Parent Letter After Summer Camp
"Thank you so much for Camp Innovation financial assistance. My son had a difficult year in 4th grade and yearned for hands-on projects. The camp was exactly that! He was so excited to see celery absorb dye, design the fastest flying paper airplane, look at river water samples under a microscope, dissect a squid, make a cardboard maze for a hexbug, and collect DNA from his spit to carry around in a vial. Gosh, the list goes on! And was just one week of camp. I wish school was like this all year! Thank you for inspiring him and activating his innate desire to learn and explore!"
Powerful TA Thank You Letter
"I want to thank you for your generosity in helping children like mine access the incredible programs through Saturday Academy. As a twice exceptional child, my daughter requires both enrichment at her cognitive level and additional time and approaches to explore concepts she learns due to her cognitive processing differences.
Saturday Academy moves beyond the frenetic pace of a public school classroom environment and really allows her to go deep on subjects like: coding, lego physics, robotics, and other topics that she enjoys, understands and excels at when given time to really explore the concepts in ways suited to her right brained mind.
Ours is a single parent and single income family. The recession had a serious impact on our overall financial well being. I have had to make significant personal sacrifices in past years to try and make sure my daughter would not have to lose out on opportunities to engage that inquisitive mind of hers simply for lack of funds.
This summer my daughter was able to participate in three Saturday Academy courses - all of which she loved and that opened her mind to the possibilities of coding and physics. We purchased a computer through the Comcast Internet Essentials program simply so that my child could continue using Scratch and other coding tools".
Inspiring Curiosity!
"I enjoyed camp this week, and I hope that I can do it again next year. I especially enjoyed the Marine Mammals class, where we got to learn about and dissect many animals, including a clam, a starfish, a squid, a small fish, and a shark. We also learned about evolution, and how it helps animals to survive. This is very good information to know, as I spend most of my summer at the beach, exploring and watching animals such as whales, seals, fish, and other wild sea creatures. I am grateful that I am given the opportunity to learn, and thank you for helping to make this possible."

"Great Class- our kids have been looking forward to it for a long time and were not disappointed. The material was new and interesting for the students and stimulated their interest in science. The instructor had great ideas and did a very nice job of empowering the students and letting them take ownership of what they were learning."

“As far as hands on learning, academic rigor, and student engagement, Saturday Academy is by far the best organization we work with in after school.”
Parent Letter
"Both my children took Saturday Academy classes. My son, who now works as IT Director for his company, took his first computer class with SA while he was in grade school.
Our daughter took her first astronomy class with SA and for years thought she wanted to be an astronaut. She didn’t make it to the moon but she did marry an astronomy enthusiast and she now serves on your board.
Thank you for opening their minds to the world of possibilities!"

Dear Saturday Academy,
I wanted to thank you again for the scholarship you provided my son Jesse to the TAG summer camp last year. Because of your generosity, Jesse was able to attend the TAG camp. He had a wonderful experience! He spent the whole week studying his passion; Science. He took Nano technology, biotechnology and epidemiology classes and learned so much! He was so excited, he told his teachers and classmates all about what he learned, and the teachers have been impressed with the knowledge he’s acquired. I am impressed with the caliber of the classes and the teachers. We live in the Seattle area and travel to Portland just for these programs. I wish there was a Saturday academy or something similar here in Seattle. Without your generous aid he would not be able to experience this kind of amazing teaching. Thank you for helping keep his passion for science alive!
Sincerely,
Marcia Domingo
Classes Student letter
"I took a SA Photography class called Photography: Digital Power in June 2009. In this class I learned how to look at the world in a more creative way by taking pictures at unique angles and distances. I used the skills I learned in the class to enter a national Photojournalism scholarship contest in 2010 which entailed documenting the construction of a home for a disabled veteran. I created a photobook from my photographs and entered it into the contest and it won! I was given a $5,000 scholarship. One of the reasons that it was chosen was the creativity of the photos, to which I credit Bobby Abramson’s class. Here’s a link to the press release"

"Thank you SO MUCH. This means a great deal to both Madisyn and myself to have her actively engaged and involved and we could not afford to do so without these opportunities."
