Work in a professional machine shop to assemble a model railroad steam locomotive. Learn about the principles of steam power as well as the manufacturing process used to create a model railroad locomotive. You will set up and operate a CNC machine center which will include hands on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and precision measuring tools. Learn to read a blueprint and manipulate laser beam settings to build various locomotive parts.
